Here is your chance to have some fun, be creative, save some money and take up a new activity with local experts.
On Saturdays in May and June, Sustainable Thornbury is offering everyone a chance to learn a new skill or brush up an old one at one of their popular skills workshops.
Older children with a parent are welcome at any workshop. Places are limited so please register early for the workshops.
9.30am Food Preserving – learn to make jam, chutney, how to bottle, with our local expert practitioners
10:30am Making Compost at the Alveston allotments site, led by an experienced composter. No refreshments. Workshop cost £5, half price for under-18s. Meet at St Helen’s church carpark at 10:15am
2pm Remodel your clothes – upcycle, refresh, change your wardrobe, with Janine Chisholm Sullivan of Cornflowerblue, author of Thrifty Style
All workshops take place at the Chantry, apart from the food preservation workshop which will take place at St Mary’s Church Hall and the composting workshop at the Alveston allotments site. They will last for 2-3 hours. Places on each workshop are limited so advance registration is essential. Payment on arrival. Register by emailing or phoning 01454 619069.
Workshops cost £10 for one or £8 each for 2 or more workshops (under-18s half price) which includes refreshments on arrival. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
