6pm: Almondsbury Primary School Christmas Fayre

All the usual stalls including chocolate tombola,
lots of fun games, children’s crafts, nearly new toys and books, raffle and the ever-popular “Gift Room”.

As always, FATHER CHRISTMAS will be making a special appearance.

Hot refreshments & festive snacks as well as delicious cakes.

Following the success of last year’s COLOUR RAFFLE we will be running this again. To win one of our colour-themed hampers, raffle tickets can be purchase before the event from the school office or on the night. The raffle will be drawn towards the end of the evening.

10am: Christmas at the Alveston Parade

The Community Forum invites you to join shopkeepers and neighbours 10am to 12noon for Christmas at Alveston Parade.

Carols will be sung by the Beavers and Rainbow, St Helen’s School Choir and The Alveston Singers.

There will be stalls, a raffle, mince pies, mulled wine, children's entertainment and a lot more...

Everyone is welcome.

7.30pm: Alveston Twinning Christmas Get-Together
Alveston Youth Centre

You are all invited to our Christmas Get together.

Members £3, Guests £4 and children Free.

There will be New Age Kurling, Shove Halfpenny, Bagatelle and other games to play. Please bring food and drink to share for the American Supper. Mulled wine will be served on arrival.

7.30pm: Thornbury Orchestra Film & Fun
Marlwood School

Thornbury Orchestra will be performing some of the greatest music written for the big screen including Star Wars, Gladiator, Big Country, James Bond, Titanic, E.T. and many more.

The second half of the concert will be Gillis - Symphony X and some well known festive tunes. This will be a wonderful musical extravaganza and we encourage the audience to come dressed as their favourite film character!

7.30pm: SIP 'n' SING is back!
St Helen's Church, Alveston

Come along and join in the fun of Christmas singing, accompanied by the young group Betar Brass, to help raise funds for Thornbury and District Cancer Research UK.

Enjoy handbell ringing, amusing stories and a jolly good evening of fun.

St. Helen's church is without pews, so the large open seating area offers a splendid venue for such an event.

Everyone is welcome to join us and start the festive season in the right way.

Teas/coffees/mince pies are included in the cost of the £7.50 ticket. You are also invited to Bring Your Own dinks and glasses. We'd love to see you there.

These dramatic performances of the Christmas story by members of St Michael’s Church are suitable for all ages and we can all join in to sing well known carols.

Gates open at 3.30pm so that visitors can collect a cup of mulled wine or fruit juice and a mince pie in advance of the Carols at 4.00pm.

Please remember, the Barn is an unheated medieval agricultural building so wrap up warm.

The grounds are uneven so wear suitable footwear.

A torch maybe useful.

Parking is limited so please walk if you possibly can. If you do need to bring a car please enter Church Lane from the Beacon Lane end only (ie. one way system exiting onto Winterbourne High Street).
