presented him following costs. These still only represent estimates, but
do give an indication of the costs likely to be incurred.

The Clerk reported that the work on the garage door had been carried
out.
The Committee recommended that the following work to be ordered.

play area.

Order two new child’s cradle seats.

Removal
of rubbish from around the parish store
Re- fit the
interior with upper slatted shelving.

Tufting the goal area at the Cross Hands play area.
The Committee decided to request Mr Painter to paint the goal posts when
they are removed. The committee also require the goal posts to be replaced by
November provided that the turf has suitably bedded in.
During the period from now until the new year
estimates are to be obtained for tarmacing the Cross Hands play area and fill
exposed areas at the Lime Kiln Fields play area.
2005-2006
All weather
cricket strip estimated at £1600.00
The Clerk
will continue to pursue sources of grant for this work.
4 Parish Store

6 Cemetery
The shrubs are gradually
being pruned, but to carry out the work all at once may spoil the appearance of
the cemetery. The Clerk asked if the boundary hedges should be trimmed, as
Garden Manicures had been told to leave them un-cut.
The
committee recommend
The boundary hedge is topped to 4feet
high and trees such as Oak, Beech, Holly etc, but not ash or sycamore are left
to form specimens. The brambles are removed from the shrub beds to stop them
spreading.
The Clerk reported having to spend three hours removing
graffiti, which had been done with black crayon. This is particularly difficult
to remover especially on the stonework.
Litter is becoming a problem; this is thought to be the
responsibility of Marlwood pupils who inhabit the cemetery at lunchtime.

.Mrs Painter prior to
the meeting raised two points.
1.
A caravan and van are now being
parked on the Down, causing traffic to cross to the other side of the road to
pass them. This is thought to be a traffic problem and would be reported to the
police.
2.
A group of youths are using the
Mrs Ann
Wilkins reported that the “No Dogs” signs at the Lime Kiln
play area was being obscured by growth which needed to be cut back.
