The Parish Council considered the following applications at it last meeting and did not wish to offer any comments thereon.

The Council did however make comments on the following:-

 

PT04/03666/F   The Old Farmhouse 2 Davids                           Erection of single story extension and

                                                                                                         accommodation and single garage.

                                                                                                          Erection of front porch.

 

The loss of a garage could increase the on street parking by the house. Secondly the closeness to the neighboring house may affect the neighbor.

PT04/0455/f      15 Quarry Road Alveston                                  Erection of first floor extension over

                                                                                                          existing garage to form bedroom.

                                                                                                         (Resubmission of PT03/3877/F).

 

The council wishes to repeat the previous comments that the proposed building is on the boundary line of the plot and could cause difficulties to the adjoining property.

 

PT04/0476/F     Dalmeny 4 Gloucester Rd Alveston                 Erection of two story side extension to

The council commented that the proposed extension was rather large for the size of the plot, and may affect his neighbour.

5 Notice of Appeal

Appeal against enforcement notice

 

 CAW/01/0103          Land at Meadow Cottage,                           Unauthorized use of residential

 Shellards Lane Alveston                         property and land for business

 purposes relating to the breeding and

training dogs.

MissV.E. Buckoak was asked to address the meeting as she has an interest in this appeal. In summary (Full letter attached). For the last three years since Mr Templar had moved into thr adjoining cottage he had raised and trained gun dogs which had affected her in the following way

1.      Noise of the adult dogs, the young puppies and particularly the ‘crying’ of the new borne. This could be any time of the day or night. She believes there have been up to 90 dogs at one time in the kennels.

2.      The smell of the excrement either raw or being burnt with the straw is particularly unpleasant in the lane and in the summer when windows and patio doors are open.

3.      There is a problem of rats which has only existed since Mr Templar’s occupation. The South Gloucestershire vermin control section have been involved setting baited traps which have helped the situation.

Other Correspondence

 

The Chairman reported an E-mail from John and Laura Webb of 15 Quarry Road. (attached). The clerk reported that a subsequent e-Mail had been received asking to view the relevant minutes of the planning application PT03/3877/F. The clerk had invited John and Laura to view the minutes after the council meeting and also copied the previous comments the committee had made.
