The Minutes of the meeting held on 2nd July 2007 were approved and signed by the Chairman.

4        Footpath Reports

Attached are copies of the letters sent to South Gloucestershire expressing the councils concern over the lack of services from the Rights of way section. Councillor John Head read a reply from South Gloucestershire. (copy attached.) The objective of the reply is to improve both the service and communication. To this end the agenda of the footpaths committee meeting will include an update on the work carried out in the parish.

Attached I an e-mail from the rights of way indicating the latest work carried out on the footpaths.

The letter also clarifies the situation of walking with dogs, essentially if the field has sheep in it then the dog needs to be on a lead. If the field contains cattle or horses then due to the curiosity of the animals it may be better to not have the dog on a lead.

               Footpaths Preservation Group

A letter will be sent to all the group outlining the problems of South Gloucestershire and hoping the group will now continue with some faith that reported problems will be dealt with.

             Other Aspects

The footpath from the traffic lights down past the houses to join OAN 28 need path signs to ensure the recently allowed footpath is signed and can therefore be used.

5          Bus Shelters

The licence has been applied for, as has the 50% grant. As soon as there are positive replies then the contractors will be given the go ahead.

7          Any Other Business

            None.

The meeting was closed at 7.45 pm.
